EGT probe position on JL3 - thoughts?

The metal bit to screw into is generic though. That came with the gauge.

I am going to have a go with 4" from the piston, I am hoping to get the scoot to the dyno in October. Hopefully the dyno operator will be able to advise on safe running temperatures for me. What sort of temps does your run at?

4" from the piston skirt is correct and the tip needs to be inserted into the middle of the exhaust stream. Mine's fitted to a JL3 and I positioned it to the rear of the pipe reasoning that it would be a bit protected from flying stones.

What make of probe is that MM?

Cheers MM, not a bad price for a probe that LOOKS more robust than the usual Chinese ones.

I have just ordered one of the CamLam probe brackets to use until I can get the nut welded on, have you any experience of these brackets???
