Flywheel turns, horn sounds with my finger on the horn button when I kick. I see a good spark with the plug held against the barrel.
Will try the soap test first before opening the chain case.
Cheers

Just ran out to the shed in my "lunch break" (I work from home on Tuesdays). The flywheel cover has been off for a while I've been experimenting (should have come here first).
I can hold the flywheel still with my hand while kicking it over!
100% sure woodruff key is ok and flywheel in the right place etc. So it looks like a sticky clutch problem. I'll take the chain case off this evening and have a look.
Cheers
Ben

Draining the new oil didn't look good :-
Bits of cork everywhere :-
Clutch didn't want to un-stick after removing the locking ring :-
When it did come apart each plate was burnt up, the two centre plates with no cork at all.
Thanks for the advice so far. New plates on the way.
Cheers
Ben

All cleaned up. Bits of burnt oily cork everywhere!
New BGM clutch plates arrived yesterday from Totally Scooters (eBay seems to be ok for “consumable” parts). Soaked them in gearbox oil as per Stickys advice and fitted them this evening.
Lots of compression again! Thanks all for the advice, I would never have though of the clutch being a problem in a million years. More pictures to follow when I get it running tomorrow. Time for bed now.
