Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, drained fuel tanks and seemed to flow okay. No sign of debris in there either. I'm coming around to Eden's point of view. It just doesn't like me.

Have you measured the fuel flow through the tap ?

That carbs too small ....you need a 25mm Dellorto .......

Float sticking on pivot and staying shut. Remove and run a small drill bit through by hand and ensure it is free to rise and fall without any friction.

Check the flow of petrol through the carb with the float bowl removed. Sounds like the problem. Check the float is free to move full up and down on its pin, check the float needle.

Nev, does it rev OK when on the stand or does this problem only occur when you are sitting on the scoot, riding it ? Check that the fuel pipe doesn't get pinched when you sit on the bike. Have you checked the flow rate into a container? Should be a pint a minute from memory. Good Luck

Sorry ,should have explained clearer, There was also an issue with one fuel tap, whichever of the three positions it was in,somehow seemed to be letting in air???? finally had enough and took it apart to find the gasket with the holes to allow fuel in was FECKED, MMMM binned it and replaced with a new one happy days.....hope this helps also......

I've had the chance to have a look at a couple of things tonight. Most important of which is the flow rate I suppose. I got 900mls in the space of a minute, which I seem to think isn't bad. That was with a Cam Lam reverse exit fuel tap. I've checked the brass ferrules in the mouth of the carb and there doesn't appear to be any obstruction. The float moves quite freely too. Previous to that I had checked the seat of the needle valve and ran a tiny drill piece through it. As that can be obstructed. And just for good measure I have put another petrol cap on. I'll have to give it a bit of a run and report back.
