Same story with my mild steel JL. Original bracket broke in a month. Made a new bracket from some scrap and a rubber mount from Halfords and it's been on for a year now
I had a stainless exhaust once and once only. It was like it was made of glass.

Vespa est ieiunas, quia semper operaturi
bit of an update, drilled the shocker bracket to 9mm , for an M8 stud and double nut, tapped the bigger hole in the rubber mount to M10 (had to grind the tap flat to get to the bottom of the blind hole) M10 stud and double nut that end, and drilled the end can mount to 11mm to take the M10 stud..... locktite , spring washers, flat washers etc....... so , vespa rear shocker mount used as JL end can mount...bit of a f@@k on, but not as much f@@k on as replacing them every 500 miles. looks alreet as well, and easily available. Topper!

any pics
live life your a long time dead
I"ll see if the bairn can put some on....pretty self explanetry really. you could just cut an old distance bolt down , the long one the rubber block fits into, instead of tapping it out and using studding, but I didn't have one spare, but had some studding and boxes of old s**t to rake through to see what fitted what. its the same width as the small rubber bush you get with the pipe, but obviously much stronger in construction.
