S1/2 ones are made at adifferent angle which makes the wheel sit 8mm lower this iswhy theshock is lomger on these models have youhad yourforks checked

yeah the forks are ok, this is how they sit with the stops in:

Clearly, one is sitting at a different angle due to the stop pushing it upwards.

Taking out the stops and they line up just fine indicating that the links themselves are fine:

Between the fork link and the fork bottom where the stop sits there's plenty of space on the RH side:

Could it be that one side is a S1/2? There were some other bodged S1/2 items including carb fitted to the scoot when I got it so wouldn't surprise me. IS this the effect you would get from a S1/2 and a S3 fork link being fitted? How do you figure out which one is which if that's the case?

I think the only way isto remove those stops and see if this sorts the problem

Are you suggesting not using stops? Taking them out resolved the problem but as the stops are of identical height, the issue is probably the links

Are both the springs the same length? I've just had to shave about 4mm off one of a pair of springs to get my links to sit level. These were new springs.

I had this problem with a set of mb springs I had picked up around 2005. To compound the problem, they appeared to have different spring rates so shortening one didn't completely fix it.

I eventually ended up shimming one of the bottom link buffers and testing the spring rate with a fishing scale.

It sucked, but they work fine now.

I had exactly this problem after putting new springs in. I had the, springs, links and buffers out numerous times to try and work out what was wrong and eventually compared the two links side by side horizontally. The part of the link that rests against the buffer on one of them was mm higher but enough to throw it out when under the pressure of the spring. I ground it down carefully and kept comparing it until it was right. Problem solved.

Sent the links to MB who examined them and confirmed they were aligned.

So it could have been the Scootrs stops, might have different hard rubber? Got some MB stops, will test later and se if that cures it..
