Had my first spin on my RB20 tonight

Early days and running rich, but what a kick in the pants when you get in the powerband (not for long before any one starts!!) First impressions are good, glad i went for 6 plate clutch though as could see having problems with 4 plate slipping, does seem very powerful (seats of the pants testing!)
Will see how i get on in the next couple weeks as need to get run in before euro rally at lincoln.

Bazman, what set up are you running? sounds as your enjoying yourself.
On the other point i was a bit concerned over the NK only having the one bracket but it does seem very short so maybe it will be okay...
I have a delly 34 on order from AF that is pre set(

) up for the NK mid pipe i got off them. I suspect like yourself they will have set it up on the rich side to avoid any erm..mishaps.
Will try and put 200 miles on the clock, before getting it dynoed in southend. How many miles before you give it the beans?

Hi sef, franspeed race exhaust, 30mm delly flatslide, 17deg timing, close ratio gearbox with 19/46 giving 4.8 ratio, bgm 120 stator and sil flywheel, 6 plate cam-lam clutch , taking it easy for the 1st 100 miles or so then gradually give it some more but for short periods and varying throttle positions, enjoy it but be careful of them NK pipes

Regarding the NK pipes having no bracket for the end can, theres a lad in our club that has a pipe that has a strap round the endcan with a bracket on it, looks like it would fit most endcans, i believe its from PM.

Baz, any reason you chose the Franspeed and 30m delly? was it a case of thats what you had lying around so to speak or were you advised to go that way.

sydduckett wrote:I am in the final stage of my RB20 build and all i keep hearing is how s*** they are, there either not giving the oomph people are expecting or are blowing up after 200 miles. Now I realise that some of these will be 220 & 240,s but the RB20 has now been out for around 6 months so has anyone got anything good to say about these beauties as im getting a tad concerned that I have brought into the hype only to find an unreliable kit that will blow up on me.
I have the RB20 with a deli 34m, NK-mid pipe and taffspeed crank and hope to be completed in the next couple of weeks.
any feedback or peoples general experiences good and bad greatly wellcomed..
Cheers

I was having the same gut feelings when i bought my RB22, rebuilt the engine myself, having not touched a scooter in 15 years. Then all the s**t started flying round about them being pants. Must admit was a little concerned. However decided to go with it and see what happens. Never ran in. dont have any BHP figures(not been on a dyno and probably never will), but will pull 67mph at about a third to half throttle(GPS not speedo), Will happily pull those sorts of speeds two up as well.
My advice would be to get it on the road and enjoy it, sure i told you about my NK and has already been mentioned as long as its not under stress when fitted should be ok.

Sure if you look on the other site there will be someone on there with a muggello or what ever thay are called or someother kit thats has gone bang and they dont get slagged of.(and how old are these designs no doubt R+D)

Franspeed as it's similar to the jl4 (revvy which i like!) 30mm as heard good reports and still trying to keep the mpg to a reasonable limit and not having to fill up every 5 mins!!
