OK, it's better, but not quite the transformation that I was hoping for. There is a good lump of extra torque which you can really feel as you change up to third and then again into fourth. It might even pull another tooth on the front sprocket. However, it is not (yet) as quick as I had hoped.
Perhaps I haven't ridden it enough yet in this new configuration. I will be riding it to the Essex Lambretta Club event this weekend, so let's see how it compares with other Lambrettas on the road.
At least I am a in a better place to start the development of this engine than I was before I changed to the JL3
