Indeed.

They are also used to bolt something from underneath when you can't get underneath like a rawlplug.

Anyway, I can't find petrol resistant ones, so I'm looking to try something else.

I was looking petrol resistant ones for the fuel gauge sender, but I'll have to settle for self tappers instead.
I picked up something similar today but they're all alloy. Looks like you drill the hole then tap them home as they're splined.
Got some 4, 5 and 6mm. I'll put them in with your other parts if you want them.

Was thinking they'd work for bridge piece screws.

Got loads of Yorkshire bolts too, we call them nails in Lancashire.

Rivnuts? Look good, I have yet to use them but they look rally handy, you need a Rivnut tool to fit them though.

That's the kiddies I picked up today at Stafford. I didn't know about a fitting tool I thought they'd just tap home if you fit the bolt / screw first to stop it distorting. They were only 15p each so not issue if they don't work without a special fitting tool.

Martin, they sell the tool on Ebay as well, looks a bit like a rivet gun, but they look ace and will solve loads of fitting issues, gonna get a load in various sizes when I can. ;-)
