all bits ive tried came off working scoot, my mate checked wires and all seems fine, im at a total loss, going to put old tap back in and try that

Sounds like fuel starvation
Does it only happen when the level of the fuel in the tank is below halfway?

I had exactly the same symptoms, it was the pickup
