No ,probably not but are Piaggio wrong ? I would imagine most Lambrettas from the factory didn't bother setting the squish , at the end of the day they were just commuter machines not made for performance so tolerances were set on the safe side.

Here is what it could be; Harry might have forgotten to skim the top of the barrel

Usually after the port work the top of the barrel is skimmed 2 mm and with a 1mm base packer and inset head the squish is about 1.5mm. I'll bet he has just forgotten to skim it.....or he has given you the 60mm crank version and you have put it on a 57mm standard crank

wack 63 wrote:One I did with Harry's advice using a 1mm pack plate had the head skimmed and re profiled to drop the squish into the bore by 1.2mm. Prior to that it had 4.53mm squish as standard.
1.2mm is the level the head was recessed into the bore from what you're saying and not the actual squish clearance which is what i'm still in the dark about as harry doesnt pick up his phone.

Have you seen this old thread?

There are a lot of 'experts' on here, but the truth is this kit is designed to run a large squish, 2.0 - 2.5mm
