Rather than personal choice, I think it depends if your engine is often running at close to self destruction or not, If I had a mild tune or I rode around at a pottering pace I would use the cheapest fuel available too as the engine wouldn't be being pushed beyond its reliable limits for miles on end.

I use super unleaded given the choice, but this purely down to the fact that super unleaded is less likely to contain ethanol, most standard unleaded will have 5% ethanol in it

I must admit I've had no problems at all with regular fuel.

A contentious debate that often comes up.
I was always told to avoid the Super fuels because of the amount of cleaners in them. The last thing you want is all that lovely oil being washed away from your big end bearing.
Was never sure if this was the case or not???????
In my TS1 I've always stuck to basic unleaded with a 3% mix of fully synthetic.
When we go to France I will be staying away from E10 ethanol fuel which is supposed to be an engine killer.

Regular fuel with a 2% mix......well i carry 150ml bottles and if i put 5 - 7.5 litres of fuel in then it's between 2% - 3% .

How does everyone fill up their tanks at the forecourt and ensure they get the right amount of oil in ?

Do you carry a small can of semi synth oil to put into the tank or carry a small bottle of pre-mixed oil and unleaded ?
Whats the most convenient way of doing this ?

40+ years ago I used to just pull into a garage fill up with 5* leaded and squirt 2x shots of 2 stroke oil in the tank from the can that was left out on the forecourt!.... imagine how long a 2 stroke oil can would last on a forecourt today ! ? .

I fill up with fuel trying to stop on a nice round Litre figure, then using a 2% mix measuring jug I do the required amount of oil

put in 5 litres of petrol just fill it to the required level, 5l gives you 2% 7.5l gives you 3% and 10l would be 4%.

my latest build I just fill the oil tank and let the pump deal with it

I find this handy. Encapsulate it in clear film and keep it in the toolbox for reference.

Always use super unleaded & carry a bottle of fully synthetic oil & a 3% mixing jug........
