Ah ha..makes perfect sense..thanks for explaining it, after years working on scooters I've not paid this little bugger any attention at all, until a mate came round with intermittent electric start problems, I traced the circuitry back to this PRD unit and simply wondered what it was.firekdp wrote:It's the "PRD" relay, it's sole purpose is to make sure the starter circuit is inoperable when the engine is already running.
The fault turned out to be a flaky ignition switch, the contacts for the electric start circuit needed cleaning up and..voila ..a working electric Start ..every time..
