couldnt get squish any lower unless i didnt use a gasket , af advised me not to

Take no notice of AF... anyway what does he know....

But really it does need to run at, or less than 1.5mm.... or it will more than likely suffer from premiture ignition ( Detonation ) causing a loss of power and possible overheating problems.... I run mine without a head gasket to bring the squish down but kept the base gasket on... and its been fine...

No head gasket for me,too.
Otherwise the squish was around 2mm.

Me too. Base gasket only, Wellseal on head, squish 1.32.

1.2 to 1.4 is the way to go..................
