Won't fit in a series 3 hole as it's round, straight fit into a series 2. Doesn't foul the wheels in mine. You could use the supplied mounting bracket attached to a blanking plate in the headset

Battery, yes I run a full DC on mine so no problem, wired through ignition switch

Thanks for that, I notice in there pic they use the main headset with the speedo laying underneath and the mounting ring and speedo together in another but not both in the headset. I don't run a battery and would struggle to put one under the panels as I run a longe range tank. is the battery just for storing info and start up? anyone used the fitting ring.
I was wondering if I could squeeze a battery between the the sides of my legshield spare wheel holder at the back between the panel ridge and back of the centre plate. would a battery this size be up to the job?

get one of those nice boxes that Lloydiee does, fit a battery in there, and enjoy the benfits of a proper DC conversion

The units hold data internally. Once set it stays. I have a battery now but ran it for a year without one with no problems. BUT I am full DC and have to isolate the battery with an ignition switch or the Speedo is on all the time. all my lights and toys come on on the 2nd click. I removed the grease nipple from the hub and replaced it with a magnate. the pickup is mounted on a bracket that fits on the hub shaft and is hidden behind the fork leg. Most cannot see it. The only downside is removing the bracket via the half nut to change a tyre.

Thanks for the replies, I do like this set up and price is good too, probably comparable to the SIP once the mounting has been fabricated.

When you run without a battery did you run it AC or from a DC regulator?
Been reading the spec and it says supply needs to be 12 to 24 v DC.
