Alas I know nothing about the avanti kit so I can't advise either way. I wouldn't want to give you any bad advice, I believe asking is good but you can't beat trying stuff for yourself, it's fun too.
Maybe Yanker could give his opinion, he has no experience of most of these kits either but does like to share his "knowledge" lol.

I'm in the process of getting Ron to build an engine and leaning towards the mikuni 35 and franspeed supertourer. Hope to run it with a cyclone (assuming I get a good enough price for my daughters from the arab slave traders
). Anyone running this set up can provide feedback?

My Rapido 250 seems to like the Sx/TV std 15x46 4.8, but is much more happy with the same box on 16 x 46 4.6 ratio.

4.6 on my avanti, li 150 box
Pulls well and revs out in 4th.

4.4 on my Avanti, but with a Clubman. I gave up waiting for the SuperClubman and have bought an MBGM Big box to try.

did the mbgm big box fit ok on your avanti,after some enquiries with Ron about the avanti kit he has told me there may be some alterations needed ?

As with the normal clubman I had to cut a slot in the Avanti fibre glass cowl to clear the seam on the exhaust. Then I broke my wrist (no Lambrettas were harmed in this event) so I haven't run it
but it fitted with a few washers for fine alignment.
