It means that they "damp" in both directions. Lambretta ones are designed to damp only one way, the fork spring should absorb the road surface and the shock absorber slows down the rebound of the spring. It should push in with no resistance and show resistance when pulled outwards.

it means they are wrong, you need damping on the rebound not on compresion

It's really a matter of personal preference isn't it?

I haven't personally tried them but I have read that having damping in both directions can cause the wheel to skip on uneven surfaces.

Uneven surfaces - shouldn't be a problem in the UK then.....

They're damp and rebound adjustable, don't know if they can be adjusted separately but switching the damp to the lowest setting [of 36] might may them work ok. I just thinking aloud really trying to convince myself.
The scoot had hyper-extended scootrs ones on anyway so they these can only be an improvement. Now where can I get some 9mm nuts? Didn't spot any on fleabay.

Those are the ones I run.
You cant use them with the rubber boot as they are too fat, and you may need to file/grind down the weld seem on the forks otherwise they wont sit right.
Performance wise they are much better than the knackered originals I had, but cant compare what they are like to say the BGM items.
I believe the SPAX ones are closer to the original items.
