up gearing

If you are going to start changing the cylinder to a 150 you might as well do it properly and get a 166. I thought you were just after a few low cost things you could do to your 125 to make it pull better?
I am very much with Bazman on this point though. 2 stroke engines never actually go bang for no reason and not all advice is good!

trouble is i have asked around but get so many opinions from kit it/up gear it/ etc etc then u just get blinded with science lol

Stick a 200 engine in it......you'll still slow down going up hills but you'll be also going faster when you do.... :)

Even at 7 stone p1551ing wet through , a px 125 would still struggle , slowest scooter ever apart from pk 50!!
More cc would be an advantage , how far you go is all dependant to cash flow I guess, or fit a p2/t5 motor if you can source one.

i use a standard PX 150 cylinder with a polini pipe and a bigger jet in the carb, all fitted into a standard sprint and it pulls fine. The PX 125 cylinder is more to get around the UK learner laws and the PX engine was actually designed around the 150 cylinder (so i have been told)
