Oh yes (lol). Soosh is a very good friend of mine and he wouldn't expect anything less from me :)

He's well aware of my true feelings towards this gem. This is exactly the same spec' as the one that I spent weeks trying to track down in Guernsey many years (decades!) ago. I found the owner/rider but he wouldn't sell it to me, which was a good thing as I wouldn't have appreciated it at the time and probably done exactly the crass sort of rebadging that I described above. Thankfully, I've a far more appreciative understanding of this classic these days.

Great machine.... exactly as it is.

Lol!! I would be disappointed if Adam didn't come out with something like that. All I intend to do is check the tyre pressures, change the engine oil and fill the fuel tank with a good petrol/groundsman mix and ride it. No elec ignition, ally barrel. This is perfect as it is. It's been a while since riding at night with 6v lights though so we will see, maybe I won't go out on it at night then.

Absolutely brilliant find. I can see why you're made up :D

I recall once being told that these early '70s Jets all had grey mats whereas I always thought I'd seen them with black :D

Nice one Sash!

Couple more touch-ups here and there are required though:

Esthetically: A nice solid stainless steel floor runner set will let more of that nice 'mustard/curry powder' paint be seen.

The exhaust looks a tad 'patchy': one can now get corrosion resistant 'sports' systems that will not rust and also add 25 Mph to the top speed without being too loud!

You do not need the registration number on the front mudguard anymore. Get rid of that 'dated' look and replace it with a MP Tuning carbon fibre one, and gain an additional 5 Mph immediatly.

Those Tyres look a bit 'wheelbarrowish', they now do proper race type tyres to fit Lambrettas, Michelin S1 profile ones are both reasonable and good and add 21/2 Mph by themselves.....each

I hope you can get your local Lambretta Service Station to up-date the machine as it has obviously been neglected since the 1970's, and enjoy riding it better with all the above and beyond suggested improvements.

Regards
