Another thing to check is that when the cable knurled nut is tightened onto the speedo certain ones nip the inner cable and make it run tight. The drill has plenty of torque to turn the inner but the hub drives don't so loosen the nut a turn or two and try again. This could explain why the speedo is slow to register.

The little brass olive that came with my speedo cable doesn't do a thing. Even with the big knurled nut nipped up the cable can be pulled out with ease. I put couple of turns of insulation tape behind it to keep it all in situ. I have tightened the knurled nut pretty tight though (with pliers) could that be the problem? Pete.

Yep. Had one of these bad boys on loan over the weekend & just bought one today.

Great bit of kit. Just wrap it on the headset, brake side & away you go. Well pleased with it. You also get 18 hours of standard battery life.

Is it a outboard disc ?
I had similar issues with mine spend ages on it - i eventually found that if you fitted the drive ring on the hub flush it would not mess correctly with the worm drive when all bolted up and assembled
I have now fitted the ring a few mm proud and its been fine
Mate brough one round the other day without a working speedo to have a look at did th esame and its working a treat.
However still do all the things that have been suggested

Yes mate it's a LTH anti dive jobbie. I took all apart to get it powder coated from new and didn't pay much attention to the position of drive ring, so fitted it flush. I'll give that a go over the weekend. Thanks for that mate.
