Me too. Had three scoots with the same set up. Yes it does bottom out if you grab the brake too hard but the solution is not to grab it too hard. One or two fingers is plenty.
Meus Lambretta est non infractus. Is est quietus.

Each to their own I guess, and I realise there are loads of these out there, I used to have one, but using brakes with a suitable caliper for working on 10 inch wheels is the better option IMO

Therein lies your problem! These calipers are from a Honda motorcycle with more speed and larger wheel, they're just too much for a 10 inch wheel. Your options are either to change you brake or fit anti dive, don't throw any more money at springs and dampers, you already have the best [WINKING FACE]
+1 but fitting anti dive will still leave you with a vicious brake. It is possible to get a Grimeca master cylinder (Peugeot Street Fighter) modified to fit your throttle housing or use and MB one. The bore of the cylinder is smaller and gives much more feel apparently.

I really must be lucky with mine as it's not vicious in the slightest, it's got great feel on braking.

In fact I had one on my chopper too and only once did it actually bottom out on an emergency stop. Mind you I didn't even have dampers fitted on that one.

And when I sold the chopper I kept the disc setup as it was too good :-)

I've read many other reports (some on this very forum) of bottoming out or uncomfortable dive with these types of brakes, a simple search would find them, some like 'em, some don't ;)

i had the same problem with my disc brake and it got worse when i fitted a stainless braided hose it was lethal so i fitted an AJP master cylinder from a scoot with 10 inch wheels problem solved :)
i had to reshape the throttle housing to the new smaller diameter of the master cylinder and i secured it with an extra fixing through the top
