gimp that would be great this is a diablo built engine ,is vacume on casing or carb,and is there any restrictors in fuel line many thanks,and thanks for all other replies pics very helpfull

Why does the vac fuel pump get used and not an electric one?

vacuum pump is a simple "mechanical" answer it works with the suction of the rotating crank - so as long as the crank is turning the pump is working - you cant get caught out if you have some sort of electrical failure leaving you short of fuel.

so its nothing to do with fuel pressure or any thing like that then. Ok brilliant I'll look into getting one fitted to mine.
