Theres only been two meetings in the last 5 years where spectators didn't have open access to the paddock and riders areas..... spectators are always welcome and you will find the majority of riders more than happy to talk about stuff with spectators .... but just be aware that if an engine is apart ... or its 5 minutes to the race this may not be the best time to ask about tyre pressures ( someone did actually ask me that once as I was starting the bike and heading for the grid! )

A tip if you want to make a weekend of it is to get there Friday night and camp and then socialise around the paddock after racing has ended and the pressure is off.... theres a great paddock atmosphere in the main and it makes for a great weekend.

no way I could ever afford or be good enough to race,

I'd agree on the fact that it's an expensive hobby but if you can ride a scooter around a roundabout without falling off then you're good enough to race, maybe not good enough to win races but it's fantastic fun just getting round the track racing against yourself and any other back markers. I had a go for a season and a half but never managed to have a reliable engine so found it very frustrating [and expensive] to not finish 4 out of every 5 races but when I did get around the buzz was unbelievable and the front ending lifting going down the Craner Curves at Donington is something that will stay in my memory banks for a long time, even though I finished last in both races.

I used to go racing back in the late 80s with my old mate [RIP] Tim, i never actually raced but would help him out. Great atmosphere, great spectators sport and great people.

My favorite events weren't so much the race days but the hill climbs, they were a blast and everyone seemed to get drunk in the evenings despite having to throw a scooter up a steep hill next morning.....happy daze indeed.

i've been going this season to all of them so far and tbh it's the best year i'm having scooter wise,best bunch of people i've met and helping out Dave Wilson when i can.So far i'm getting good at tyre warming and also putting the scoots on the paddock stands these are becoming my specialitys also eating all the jelly babys.On a serious note watching these guys go round the track is awe inspiring Darren is a hell of a rider ragging the rear end off the 265 and the closeness of the racing is fantastic if you haven't been it's well worth going.
