seriously though folks ,if you want and fit an air filter for whatever reason ..usually to prolong engine life etc ,why stick it out of your side panel and into the elements ..be it rain or snow or even dust on hot summers days as surely it defeats the object of the excersise .

I have no choice as far as I can see, 34mm dellorto, TS1, where else can I put the filter, the carb is almost
touching the inside of the panel

You're all missing a trick if you ask me. The Spanish had it right. Why don't you breath through the toolbox with a big louvred door? Not the existing set up perhaps. But the principle is sound.

Still unfiltered air though surely?
And i've got a bloody big hole in my panel now so it's staying thank you very much!

Agree with Baz with the filters run one on my GP for @ 2 years no issues and can vouch for the rain in Spain with him as well :lol: mind you the weather on Sunday back from Dorset was bad are you sure it didnt snow or ice up if you were on the A34 where we was that could be it :lol: :lol:

Had same problem on Spain euro, now use spray on oil and filter cleaner, no problems, Barnsley lamb centre will have on is stall at Scarborough.

I have now cleaned the filter and given it a good coat of Castrol spray air filter oil, sticky stuff isn`t it.

I work with a guy who is moto X mad. He says they oil their filters with airfilter oil till it won't take any more oil, then squeeze/wring it out with your hands and then fit it. They also keep one ready oiled in a zip top plastic bag just in case. Also the good thing about using proper airfilter oil is that it washes out with hot soapy water he says.
