Yes, I'd followed that thread Paul NI, but wondered whether the distance around the cylinder that the inlet port swept may be a guide as to whether the cylinder is Stage 4, or the distance from the top of the cylinder to the tope of the inlet/exhaust etc, would give a guide as to whether the cylinder had been tuned from standard. As I was given the top end and I don't have another to compare it to of known tune, I'm sitting here shrugging my shoulders.

That cylinder looks pretty std to me. The top of the barrel to top of the ex/port on a typical stage 4 would be 34mm to 36mm

Thanks Sean. Have measured and actual dimensions are

Top of cylinder to top of exhaust = 40.5mm
Top of cylinder to top of inlet =75mm
Top of cylinder to top of transfers = 47.5mm

Does that give any clues?

as far as the inlet port and timing, you would measure from top of barrell to the BOTTOM of inlet port ,
again yours looks std,
inlet ports on stage 4,s are usually lowered to increase the duration but dont forget that cutting some off the piston skirt also does that.
