Is the tuning of the 'traditional' type, or something special?
If the former, a big carb or a JL pipe will make it a bit more of a 'variable noise, same speed' monstrosity that guzzles fuel.
Your JL money could be better spent getting Ralph to spend a few hours on the barrel. Even with a little carb like your 25, with the clubman you've already got, a 205 that Ralph has fiddled with is a nice engine.

Thanks for all the advice. I spoke to MB today, put my name down for his imminent big-bore Clubman, and booked my kit in for some tuning. I'll stick with the RS Clubman until Mark's comes out, and IM also going to change the 25mm carb for a 30mm.

One pipe always overlooked is the JL2. if you download the Scooter Center Catalogue and look at the dyno figures on pages 85 & 86 you'll see that the JL2 out-performs the JL4 on a Honda 205 set up.

Cool, that's probably a good£400/£500 there though.I'd deff try with just a carb 1st.It will be the cheapest bit, especially if you can borrow one off a mate.

£400/£500 would go a lot further the other side of the A1(M).

yeah, everybody needs to make a bike there own. i tend to keep the power mods more old skool and cruisin speeds under 70 and find you reel in the big horse power engines over a 100 miles anyway. MB do some nice bits and bobs and we don't know how the new clubman will perform yet, needs a rally season to get proper reveiws. I'd be happy to buy the RS clubman off you if you want to get a bit of money back. if it was my money i'd spend it with the guy who ran the fastest lambretta at the scooter shoot out (again). all ways its a really really nice lookin sx, just the right amount of paint high lights, originally an Armandos restoration?

I've got a couple of Taffspeed Honda 205 engines.

With Taffspeed tuning applied (have piccies if anyone wants).

One sat in my garage for years and never been run, including spanking new Honda MTX200 piston !!!

When I got bike, started with an old MSC Micron pipe (carb is DelOrto VHSA 32).

I've tried with JL4, NK and B-Race

All had different tendencies, but have to be honest and say I prefer the Micron for all round useability, so thats whats back on my regular ride now.

Also have a spare Micron pipe to go on the other 205.

I've had a few of these pipes,T5,P2 and one for my TS1. I think their great pipes.Ralph Saxelby recommended one for my TS yrs ago and had one of the last ones from MSC.Best £220 I spent.
