Corrado is right I must admit I hadn't really thought of the final drive being taller, it's just seems strange you are dropping power in 4th , you either do have box with jump from 3rd to 4th, and/or the race exhaust is only making the power really high up the rev range , but i never imagined that you would need gearing with fd of 5.65 with an imola. Joespeed has good idea.

Hi, I took a Jl3 off to try the race pipe out. At almost £300 a pop it's getting a bit expensive

. I just want a rideable scoot without having to cane it everywhere. Pete

Wouldn't matter if it was a spanish box as long as it's not a li150 S3 one, the S2 one is the same as the Italian

are you sure?you may want to check this before you reply![/quote]
I don't need to check, I already know that the Spanish S2 li150 gearbox and the Italian li150 one are the same, 'tis only the Spanish S3 one that has the massive jump between 3rd and 4th.

when some one says its a 'li150 box' then we shouldn't just think that its 'ok' and that the ratios are suitable ,it is better to check rather than assume!!!!

I wasn't making any assumptions though :wtf:
I was simply stating the fact that just because there may have been a spanish LI150 box in there as opposed to the Italian, that it didn't neccessarily mean it was a bad thing :shocking:

should easily pull that gearing if set up well
id check carburation and ignition timing as well as squish clearance
and check the inlet and reed assembly are properly sealed up

thats fine, but the spanish box on a this would not be with the big jump from 3rd to 4th its a no no!
