I suppose if you could convert a stator to a 12v set up you could then use the 12v regulator and CDI unit from a standard electronic kit. Or isn't it as simple as that?
Well you'd need to change the flywheel, ignition feed coil, and add a pick up unit as well. You couldn't just convert your stator to 12v points and run it in the original flywheel then?
Yes, if you keep the points, but you can't use a CDI with the points type flywheel.
