TS1 225- What Carb ?

Tried a 30mm dellorto,cudnt wait to get it off....went to a Tmx 35 Mikuni....love it to bits...so easy to set up!

Was it hard to set up, or where you just disappointed with the performance ?

Was suckin too much air in.....thought i was gunna have to cut a whole in my panel,Put the mikuni on,easier to set up and very quick throttle response!

my 3 ts1`s

pwk 28/30, - good alround, good on fuel

34 dellorto - better top end and acceleration - heavy on fuel (than above)

35 Mikuni - smoother delivery and better fuel (than above)

each one has its own merits

i am about to change the pwk for a mikuni ( which is my personal choice if buying new)

would not change the dellorto as it is set up perfect

all bikes use same gearing and exhaust and are out of the box kits with matched casings

i went from a 32mm deloeto to a 35mm mikuni. not worth the effort

im now going to try a 30mm mikuni and see how it goes

Dellortos have much more adjustability. People can get fooled into thinking the mikuni is easier to set up.. this is often because you simply dont have the parts available so you do with what is there. I found slightly better hi end flow on mikuni but I prefer the dellorto.. certainly its a more 'professional' carb if you get what i mean. Even the cable connection is rubbish on the mikuni compared to the dellorto-poxy plastic thing.
