What makes these so expensive its not as if they are made from sections like an expansion?
Labour costs are kept down because I think that (and stop me if I'm wildly wrong here) the MB one is made by BGM who although a German company make their stuff in the far east somewhere and the Avanti one is made by JL who are in the Czech Republic.
Even so, I don't suppose designing and getting anything made is particularly cheap. What with tooling and prototyping costs etc. £200 or so doesn't seem too outrageous for an exhaust system.

Didn't MB mention Taiwan? Not a particularly low labour rate area -no kids, social security, reasonable conditions and so on. A proper press tool and mould work out not cheap either.
So wages/materials/equipment/equipment while researching and developing, money for tooling, payment for workers, profit for producers, transport, packaging, profit for sellers/distributors (they have to take out loans to fianace all this).
Making little rings and welding them together is not investment heavy, and a decent welder can knock out that sort of stuff pretty quickly - probably more profit in a fabbed up spanny then in any blown/hydroformed or pressed type.

I had a look at the one in the picture (including the inside) and it's a well made bit of kit to be sure.

It's very expensive compared to the AF clubman.
It really annoys me when a dealer constantly disses other peoples products
"Unlike some manufactures I'm not allowing my product to be rushed through and want it as good as we can get it so production is perfect." . . . . . . . .Erm SR kit?

Maybe thats the reason its not being rushed ?...as that was a collabaration with Scooter restorations that didn't work as intended...and probably 10 years later its still used a stick to beat with
AF get nothing but grief for lack of R&D/quality control so shouldn't we be grateful somebody wants to get it right to avoid all the ill fitting/not fit for purpose accusations
Damned if you do.....

Nothing wrong with making sure all is good but why knock the other manufacture (who we all know who he is) and accuse them of rushing theirs? Silly really

Im not sure he actually knocking RM though unless Im reading it wrong ?? or thats not what you were implying. I just read it as making sure MB product is right before it goes into production.
TBH though it seems a regular trait for dealers to diss competitors in the first instance which i agree, doesn't really do anyone any favours.
