The SIP front brakes look nice and great quality.... Not convinced about the rear personally , but look well engineered!

This is how the scooter looked after being trashed on the track for years. I got it from a mate of mine, Andrew Sharkey who raced it in group 4 for a few seasons. He spayed over the DTC paint with rattle cans! The only surviving paint is on the side panels. He got it from Jem Booth who raced it as number 37. So its an original AF racer!!!
Any idea what Sharkey did with my Group 4 racer (the one I'm on in my avatar) that I sold him in 2007?? ;)

Hello Tom. I will ask him in 3 weeks time, i am best man at his wedding!

I wish i hadnt seen that anti dive version...........

The motor is a TS1 240 (the same one that was in 'Rusty Racer'), but Alan at Diablo put a power-jet on the carb last year and it produced 36.4 BHP, although was still a little lean. I have just had one of those ReadSpeed CDi's delivered and will need the timing set etc (as its now DC). Hopefully i will get over to get a fresh Dyno next week. V excited!
I don't want to keep up with modern traffic. I want to hoon past it, preferably on one wheel!

Hey Wax, you can change yours to antidive easily and chaeply by changing the caliper plate and adding the tie bar ;-)

O wow, well give him my congratulations when you see him! :)

I nearly bought my old Group 4 back off him a couple of years ago, but just couldn't afford to race the bike and a scoot, so had to pass on it, but I'd love to know where it is now??

In any event, very nice scoot you have there mate, with some real trick parts, and an equally impressive motor!!! Enjoy! :D

Are you the guy from Bristol? If so, i was the bloke who came with sharkey to pick the race bike up...... He has defo sold it though, that i do know, along with a few others too from his shed. He is down to 2 now. Neither of which are on the road. He smokes too much doob to get off his arse and fix em up. I pestered him for years to sell me this scoot, before he caved in.

As for the anti dive conversion, where do you get those from? I carnt even remember where i got the disc brake from in the first place? It was about 7 years ago now. Maybe SIP?

The rear brake master cylinder was from SIP and is designed for a Vespa really. It was a necessity as any excess metal was trimmed off, to save weight. This included the bracket for the brake pedal! That couple of grams must have shaved second from the old lap times ;)

Jem Booth sent me this snap of the scoot, a few decades ago

LTH, Worb5 or Jockeys Boxenstop? Give them a shout to see if they can supply the caliper plate, tie bar and fork brackets. If you get stuck, give me a shout ;)

Damn fine street racer you have there, but I have to ask why fit a rearset hydraulic brake pedal in the standard location. I can't stand riding with one leg back and one leg forward to cover the rear brake. Mine's getting rearsets next season. It's only a quibble, mind you.
