Re: Agusto fried a CDI??

Interesting question. A mate of mine had an Agusto unit fitted to his TS1 at JB Tuning as part of an upgrade of his engine (which was a spectacular piece of tuning work by John in every respect). The scooter ran perfectly during a brief test before it was taken away. A few days later my mate rang and said he was having problems so I took it for a spin.
The bike showed signs of some electrical/ignition problem, spluttering at high revs in every gear. So we took it back and the first think John did after he tested it was to change the CDI, then replace the pick-up to the (new) BGM stator. It didn't work then so we left it with him. When we went back to collect it, it ran perfectly again.
I'm not sure now what the problem was, TBH. When I had a very similar issue with my ignition a couple of years back it was the CDI that we replaced and it ran fine thereafter.
