4.60 final drive on a non tuned TS1..........me thinks lots of changing down to 3rd against winds and slight gradients.

It's not untuned. Ralph has touched it. It'll pull 4.6 fine with a Micron pipe on it.

Unless Woody is the size of a walrus. In which case, I hear 5.2 is the gearing of choice these days.

Depends weather its been tuned for torque of exhaust port raised etc. Who knows!
In my opinion, for driveability 4.8 - 5.0 final drive on TS1's or monzas is best for tractability but it does depend on tune. 4.6 is high though in my opinion, even on a tuned TS1.
Depends what you want to do...........................
Do you want to cruise along at a steady speed, pulling up hills with relative ease without constantly changing down to get back on the power or are you happy cruising on the flat and then when you see a hill start accelarating big time in 4th to get the momentum to pull you up most of the way and then when it falls out of the power at almost the peak of the hill, change down, thrash the arse out of it in third and change back in to fourth again when you go down the other side........ but the big bonus of the over geared scoot is to tell your mates down the pub that with the wind behind you down hill (although you forget to mention that) that you had 90 mph out of it GPS.
And i am considerably less than walrus size thank you.........maybe a bit on the cuddly bear size but i'm quite happy. :D
