I had exactly the same problem with AF rims and a ScootRS disc brake, I had to shave a bit off the back of the caliper ,but it was fine afterwards.
Slow is the new fast!

No clearance and this is with washers between the rim the hub which I don't think is a good idea.

Yes I had the same issue on a mates scoot with an MB disc with sip rims, I had to grind quite a bit off the caliper to get them to fit.
When i was young my Mom said "if you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing at all " ..................... and people wonder why I'm quiet around them !

Hi Carlos Fandango, I reckon on about 10 mm coming off? Is there enough there to do that? Really want to use these rims but don't want to change the hub as it works perfectly. Thanks for your input.

I just put masking tape on the rims and ground just enough to get them to fit on, id guess about 5mm. My mate said he wasn't bothered if he had to have a new front Disk brake if it didn't work, so I wasn't to worried about grinding away . I got about 1-2mm. Clearance. The biggest headache was getting the old studs out, as thehex heads had been ground down to next to nothing in order to miss the calipers in the first place !!! Leaving about a mm. of head to get a socket on !!Mel K wrote:Hi Carlos Fandango, I reckon on about 10 mm coming off? Is there enough there to do that? Thanks for all the input, grinding it is then, I could also take a bit off the fixed pad to gain a mm or two as the new pads move it all closer to the rim too. The hub studs are done thanks to Captain Pugwash and his heat gun and lock nut one side and ground down socket the other, method.
