I bought a couple of cheap foam filters....went for a spin and it kept bogging more than usual....found out that the filter was been sucked into the carb because the filter was thinner material ....never used them after that.

There's no comparison between Ram Air filters used on motorbikes around the world, and the cheap one layer seat foam jobs that you see adorning some scoots. A RamAir filter should last you years if it's cleaned.

As to the cost, depends where you buy from. Scooter dealers, in my experience, charge a bit OTT for RamAirs.

Bought a foam k&n style one off beedspeed in the end for £8.

UNI filters are very good as well, but not distributed well in Europe, it seems.
