rear shock length dictates how close it is to the ground as well

I'm using an r1 shock which is the same length as the standard s3 shock and a load firmer so there's no where to go on the shock front, I havn't ridden a lammy with a jl3, are they pretty good for clearence?

I've been looking at the remade jl taffspeed pipes as well ???

have you tried a s2 shocker they are 15mm longer .

I havn't, but am not sure about raising the ride height or the quality of aftermarket s2 shocks, I think a change of exhausts would be better.

I'll see if bgm or casa make an adjustable s2 shock though

just watch your readblock if you go the longer shock route and your head cowling might touch the frame as well as you said pipe is the best way forward

Isn't ground clearance something that exhaust builders take into consideration when designing?

I like the JL4 with TS1 but if you encounter any speed bumps or sleeping policemen as they call them here you'll quickly see why people complain about ground clearance. The downpipe hangs extremely low. I've heard that the Franspeed Race has solved this problem?

I have converted r1 shock and a jl3 and the ground clearance on the down pipe is poor.
Riding 2up is a nightmare even raised drain covers can be a problem, having said
that when my son is on the back and full weekend camping gear is attached the scooter
must be carrying nearly 35stone!!!!!!!!

Just to put things in perspective the clearence I have with the nk isn't the end of the world, I'm sure people just put up with it, but when I ride my Suzuki the last thing I'm thinking about when entering a corner is my lean angle or whether I ground the exhaust, I'm more worried about whether I can hold my line.

Riding my Lammy with an Ancillotti pipe the last couple of years I havn't had to worry and frankly if using an expansion pipe means I have to change my riding style, particularly two up, then ill probably just put a clubman/gori/ancillotti/rs back on

Right, I've spent a bit of time measuring up with a view to shortening the exhaust stub to get an extra bit of clearence but have decided to change the exhaust.

I don't mean to have a moan about the nk pipe, it's got lovely riding characteristics, bags of torque, great sound and go's like stink

But my riding involves commuting as well as fun blasts so I'm going to fit a saxelby clubman or a Gori, both of which will look and sound good with decent ground clearence, pay off will be less leaky power delivery much like my old Ancillotti.
