Well...A couple of things just to clear the air then please?

Any idea what these unqualiffed claims are about?

1) "These Wheel Rims have been developed over a number of years and incorporates the advance designs and technology used in motor sport. Which were raced and tested by ourselves in sprint and endurance races over a number of years"

Any idea what this implies in terms of safety?:

2) "They come pre-power coated Silver/Black as to seal any micro holes that the heat treated LM25 alloy leaves behind"

Given the proximity, date of launch and similarity of product, do you percieve any correlation between these rims and the abandoned/condemed MBD split alloy wheel rim 'project'?

Why are you asking Andy to qualify/clarify someone else's sales text? He just said he prefers split rims to tubeless, that's all. The best person to ask about these rims and the associated sales text would be Pat from Lambretta Restore.

And if you get an answer, or have some tech info on the quality of these split rims (or similar other abandoned projects by others) then please do share it with us all so we can make better purchase decisions.

I think Tino does the "safe " wheel rims as well. Supposed to be good quality and not overly priced.
I asked what the difference was once between these and indian ones and was told the safe ones are actually round!

What a nice action it's been on this thread. Thank you for all the answers.
I basically first thought of tubeless, then I got put back with all the discussions on the s c o o t r s vietnam tubeless.
Then I looked and read upon the SIP tubeless. They are specced "only for race use" and need me to modify the hub studs.
That means I cannot run my tubed rims and change to tubeless when time comes. Or vice versa without having to change the wheel hub studs.

So I thought to get a spare split rim, and then it occurred to me to ask the knowledgeable people here.
The http://www.lambrettarestore.com/alloy-w ... 1586-p.asp was not too expensive either. Not like SIP Tubeless prices.

You only need to change hub studs once and that's when fitting sip tubeless for the first time after that you can revert back to a std rim any time just using nylocks
