Check your compression, then check it again then have a grown up check it..

As above with your timing..

Do you have a funny crank fitted?

Have you measured your port timings?

What plug are you running?

What happens when you run it without a filter?

Have an extended mixture screw fitted by any chance?

Talk with Benji and JP they also can help..

Try a 15 pilot and try a 4H16 or a 5K1 needle (Keystar items are fine to use, pm me if you want more info)

Lol, tough 'love' there Frank! (just sticking to the gay theme) :moon:

Yes, I am going to talk to James and Benji about the grown up stuff as I'm just sick of it at the moment. That will at least confirm the timing and compression situation.

Standard LI 125 crank, never measured port timings, B7ES and running without the filter was pretty similar to with filter. Standard mixture screw, too.

Thanks for the info, will let you know how I go.

Cable choke or pull choke?

TM24 issues (should I go to a PHBL25?) - help please!

Cable - seems to work fine but I know, I should chuck the pull mechanism on to be sure. Have a list of things to do this weekend.

Why the question on extended air screw, I have one of those fitted (think its says bgm on it) is there a problem with them ??

try a weaker slide to get rid of the bogging from 1/8 throttle, providing your bogging is rich

And that's an interesting point, because I'm now convinced it's massively lean at about 1/4 throttle. I knocked a couple of degrees off the timing (Frank, James had recommended this some time ago) which didn't change things hugely, but decided not to be lazy and did some proper plug chops. I set it up with the 4DH7, and interestingly it ran it's best with the 17.5 pilot and the clip on position 4 (2nd richest). The plug cokes up at idle and when rolling on a closed throttle, but 1/4 throttle chops are ultra lean and WOT chops (180 main) are fine. I

So the 4DH7 seems too lean at that 1/4 no matter what; the only other thing I can try to more finely tune is the air screw.

On to the 5N13? I know this is designed for a bigger carb. and the taper is generally 'richer', but it's a longer needle. What impact does the extra length have? Would this be richer at 1/4 throttle? :|

(Frank, I'll be sending this on to James later and will PM you re. other needles if I cannot get it settled on the 5N13.)

Thanks all!

Oh yeah, I'm now running the pull choke, too (no difference really).

And I've read the Sudco manual (again) and absorbed as much as I my brain will allow...
