@ shocky: the Mitos had some sort of production exhaust and a bigger carb but no mods to the cylinder

probable mito excuses
"weve only got 32bhp and 17 torque" (if early models) later models 28 carbs 29bhp
"our bikes weigh 129 kg"
"105mph top speed "
vs scooter
40bhp , 26 torque ??????
race scooter ???? 90kg not sure bout this can anyone comment

117mph top speed ?[/quote] i was out with some club members last night, and we were discussing this, and some were saying its not as if its been embellished over the years, we remember rob and nesty quoting this figure back then (fellow club members) group 6 240? rob was on his G4, hammy on his G3 150 short stroke, and nesty on a GROUP3 as well, cant remember the details, but heard the story down the pub loadsa times. they were like conquering crusaders regaling tales of battle!

It was Mike the bike Davis who was clocked at 117mph at Bruno curciut in the 90's, Team MB went over to race and cleaned up as I remember.
Nesty raced in group 6 , Rob miller in Group 4 and Stevie Hammy Hamilton in Group 5 150cc Specials (not 3) Broady also raced at that meeting. There was a great article in scootering regarding this at the time. Oh and they were all flying machines in that team!

this is a fave of mine
the top speeds the group 6 bikes are getting 117mph certainly doesn't seem far fetched

there were 3 austrian race events where uk riders took part.
Euroring in Hungary near Györ and two times in Czech rep. Other racers then the mentioned present were Stuart Day on the Taffspeed grp 6 (white, before it transformed into the red monster), Pete Merchant on a grp 4 and a very nice lad on a red Kegra grp 6, sorry, forgot his name.
