schwalbe seem to be the flavour of the month tyre wise. Michelin S83"S were my choice of tyre for years, done many many 1000s of miles on S83"s, wet, summer, winter , dry, 2"s up, solo, they are good tyres, still run them on the pacemaker.my P-range has S1"s fitted, and they are ok, (20lb front, 32lb rear) an adjustable YSS shocker on the front, set about middle setting, and a standard schock with a taffspeed spring on the back. handles ok, never thought otherwise, suppose i"m just used to it. GP has schwalbes on for this season, but just put them on, and havent done any miles yet, so cant really comment on them. i stuck with michelin for years because you can get good deals on them (3 for 58 quid etc).

I had schwalbe weathermans on my Rally and they were great in all weathers, including frost, (as long as you adjusted your speed and braking to suit.) The rear lasted about 1800 miles before it needed changing. Having said that I'm built for comfort not for speed, so it's likely that you may get more mileage if you're a bit more of a racing snake.
