I have Schwalbe white walls on my scooter - I used some Jif on them, but they still have a slight yellow tinge to them... I may try swarfega wipes!

How come soulsurfer? Silicon Spray is formulated for use on rubber and does a great job in cleaning it. It is not a solvent like WD40. Is your concern maybe with getting on treads or perhaps lubricating tyre off the rim? I also understand that the aerosol silicon sprays are solvent based and so they would not be a good idea as they would dry out the rubber.

If you know something I don't I'd be grateful to know as I would want to avoid any risk I'm unaware of. Thanks.

Silicon is slippery as feck and yes, any on the tread could have you off, also, although you may think you've cleaned it all off the tyre, when you drive off it will seep from every orifice and the first you will know of it is when you lean around a corner/roundabout where it'll be on the edge of your tyre/tread. It may be good at cleaning rubber but I'm buggered if I'd use it on tyres, user beware

I use very sparingly on a cloth so there is no surplus to seep anywhere. But your mention of leaning into a cornering has me thinking, since there will be a lot of pressure on the edge of the rim that might not be helped by even a hint of lubrication when the tyre is flexed.
