I ran a temporary link from the regulator to the headlight. Lights worked so my problem is with the loom. New one orederd

Right...its not the stator, its not the regulator, its not the C.D.I. I have changed the loom and still issues !!
Resurrection Scooters 12v loom in now. Scooter starts no problem, so the ignition wires work fine. If I turn the key round to any position, no rear light, but the brake light works fine. Headlight will come on in the correct position, but will not switch from high beam to low beam. WTF is happening ??? I have three brown wires coming from the ignition switch for some reason. I bought the switch from M.B. a while back.
Could it now be the switch that is fooked ????

Firekpd posed a good point about the connections at the brake light switch, I note that you didn't come back with any comment about that? He's your man re loom problems
PS, I want to believe that the MB switch is good as I have justv fitted one myself

I forgot to add that its a brand spanking new brake light switch just fitted this evening....no idea whats gone wrong here....the only things left are the ignition switch and the light switch! !!
