The piston appears to have been repegged, I have the kit here at mine...It wasn't until you'd said that I looked at it more closely and noticed.
I rode it home when he bought it in Dewsbury back to Harrogate aprrox 25miles about 6 years ago. It was running a 34 Amal Powerjet & underkickstart 48mm Fresco, TV Length rod in 60mm crank and a 2mm alloy packer...It kicked ass! I can't really remember what the bottom end characteristics were like, but when the power came in F@@k me!!
We were told it was a Yamaha Jetski conversion when he bought it. It had been fine for all these years and never been apart until last year on the way back from a rally it locked up racing with a couple of TS1's on the motorway. The piston and barrel appear fine.
If he can't get the rings then I suppose this piston is up for grabs...not that it's going to be particularly useful with no rings
