or, as it's pretty much a VHSA/B, run it without the idle emulsion tube...?
most RBs with VHSB34s don't seem to have an idle jet
i have fitted PHBH type idle jets to my VHSAs
I did do the drilling thing, and left the filter out
got a 350 float needle in my VHSA32

like setting up any carb, it's probably giong to be a matter of trying it, riding it, changing something, riding it, tweaking it, riding it... and so on....

Have played with my vhsh for about three months.....
The emulsion tube acts like a pilot jet and gives a smoother running at slow speeds if used.
I also used only the big pilot jet (yes you could use the same of phbh) and it gives a bit of trouble when going at 1/8 of throttle.
So my advice is to use the vhsh with the biggest top pilot jet you have and to use the emulsion tube as the REAL pilot jet
Actually i'm running my rt240 with 60/b55.
