Thanks Bofs, pm sent
Okay some more knackered parts...
Speedo held together by grease and Evo-Stik
Beyond renovation??
Holes in the headset top and bits broken off the edges...
Not sure if this is the correct headlight unit, but one of the lugs is broken...
Is this supposed to be welded inside the RH panel?
And this is where we're at now, a couple of bits removed off the back end, looks like one of them trailers now...
The grinder and cutter and Dremel are getting some use.

Off to see my ally polisher and welder man tomorrow, he can also dip and strip the ally parts, so we'll see what that will reveal!!

It's Series 2 on these. It does get confusing though, it even has a Series 3 airscoop

Cheers Ric, it's on;y on the RH panel, why's that?
Both panels also have that small plate welded to them, some kind of reinforcement? Can't see that area being a weak point though

It's where the panel sometimes touches the footboard arm, it's prone to cracking there.

only plausible reason i can come up with is it may have been felt that this area may take a few knocks being in close proximity to the kick iron ....and judging by my right hander they were spot on

Keep the glass from the headlight unit whatever you do. You're unlikely to find another and it can be glued onto a pattern reflector.
