That's what I was thinking.

Head was blowing
That's rallying over for this year.

Forgot to add.
I was told today that because the compression is too high I'll need a new MB Developments LC head. It's not worthwhile reprofiling the MB Developments LC head I have.

Who told you that?

What is the compression ratio?

before you go in for the big spend try cleaning the alloy off the barrel as wack says, but the piston i wouldn't bin that just yet get a course file and get rid of those heavy seize marks, the rings aren't stuck ,there is a bill here for ten bob!
or we could go the bank of england route with a piston and replate some £250 plus get filing if you was in the middle of the desert then you would either do it or walk home!
another 5000 miles left in that rig!

joe

It has seized in the stud areas.
It was Phil told me this morning Ian when I rang about getting it reprofiled to lower compression. The kickstarts were still bending, but he suggested raising the squish to 2.2 from it's 1.4, but I didn't want to do that after suggestions that it could damage it.
I can't remember the AF recommended squish rating off hand. I've got it somewhere.
Irrelevant now anyway.

Surely to lower the compression you would remove material from the combustion area not the squish so I can't see why you need a new head unless the one you have is thin and would break through?

the squish needs to be as near to 1.1mm as you can get , bigger squish runs a lot hotter you def need to remove from combustion chamber ,get a sensor boss welded on when getting this rework done

I'm going to have to think about what to do. Going LC has been a disaster.
Scootering looks finished til next year anyway. At least it made it to Kelso!!!
Thanks for the advice everyone.
