Cheers bilko. by the by i saw you on the LCGB site re the MB rubber exhaust gasket thing. They do fit a franspeed well the francespped race anyway. Have one on mine. Just need to dip in a cup of hot water first and then toll the metal split rings into the grooves once you have it in position. Mine is a bit tatty now but that down to the end can being removed a few times...

I'd be checking the plug threads in the head unless it was just the lead falling off.

Here's why it won't work Sef. The bracket for the support goes right up to the edge of the joint. I use silicone, but it never lasts.

Just reading this thread and saw the issues with the exhaust end can joint.
I can recommend the high temp exhaust gasket sealant that camb lamb sell for all exhaust slip joints. I found it works really well.
Its expensive (close to £20 a tube) but lasts for ages. I've had my tube for two years now and have popped my pipe off several times and my mates and refitted (Ooooooohhh errr! Lol!) and it still heasn't run out and i've never had a leaky exhaust joint.

Slip joint (JL3)

I took the end can off then cut some slits into the outer part of the joint, slid the can back on and closed it up with a jubilee clip, 4yrs an still tight.

Lucky man, last time I had exactly those symptons it was a gudgeon pin circlip popping out in my TS1, never realised how much damage a little bit of wire could cause ,

I see what you mean, the franspeed tourer is differnet to the race or maybe an updated model? iv already had to re rivet the bottom band on the end can 2 times... Bloody things....
