What is the stator puting out before it is rectified/regulated? I take it you're measuring from the rectifier connections not somewhere in the headset. Flywheel do lose their flux after some time, have you checked it with a different flywheel?22/2 wrote:Picked up a BGM AC/DC Reg /Rec at Builth, fitted it today and not impressed yet.
AF original Ducati 12V flywheel and stator, fitted per instructions (not really much to do wrong), put a meter on and got 4.7 VDC @ 4600 revs and 10.52 VAC at 4600 revs that can't be enough - can it?
Re DC conversions.

Obviously you never had a battery connected, but were your lights switched on when you took the readings?22/2 wrote:AF original Ducati 12V flywheel and stator, fitted per instructions (not really much to do wrong), put a meter on and got 4.7 VDC @ 4600 revs and 10.52 VAC at 4600 revs that can't be enough - can it?
No, I will.Rich_T wrote:What is the stator puting out before it is rectified/regulated? I'll check.22/2 wrote:Picked up a BGM AC/DC Reg /Rec at Builth, fitted it today and not impressed yet.

No battery, no lights on.

Then I suspect that for that type of reg/rec everything is OK. Try it with the lights on, the voltage should rise a bit.22/2 wrote:No battery, no lights on.
