Hello mate,
I know we've spoke on here before, but we don't know each other. Dave told me a bit about you and was telling me what a guru you were with Lambrettas.
I met Dave Jackson when he came over to Northern Ireland for the 4 Nations Rally in 2009. I'm really glad we met. We met again at the 4 Nations last year in Scotland. I don't get the chance to make many rallies on the mainland.
He's a top bloke and I've got a lot of respect for him.
Anyway. I've now finished the RB250 and I want to turn my attention back to my old LI150.
It's all stripped in need of a rub down and respray. But I was going to turn to the engine soon. It's an LI150 with a Muggello 186 V2 top end. I've Dellorto 30mm and 28mm carbs and was going to refurbish and refit my JL1.
What I'd like to ask you if I may, was is there anything that can be done to give it a bit of torque. I'm nearly always 2 up and any hills it just needs a bit of oomph. Does that make any sense?
I can strip and rebuild an engine ok, it's the tuning and torque mathematics/voodoo magic I fail to get my head round.
I'd really appreciate any help you could offer me.
Regards,
Bilko

Hi Stu,
Thanks for the message. I'm glad to see you kept the Jet as it should be - you can get a restored bike any day of the week!
Let me know if you need anything in the future. I have had a couple through my hands since yours, but none as original.
Cheers
Mark
