Wise words from J.Supereibar wrote:As far as I know, there is no dust protection cup on ANY of the Series II's that have come out of Spain. Or at least there wasnt on any of the ones I've taken apart. The Spanish models have a spacer thin ring between the frame and lower bearing track. Did you find it like that or is it an Italian Series II frame you are trying to fit that on? I think that is the problem.
Do the following:
1- Remove the dust protection cup (and lower bearing track).
2- Refit bearing track
3- Fit fork race & greased cage
4- Fit the spacer ring
5- Gently sit the mudguard & clamp on the spacer ring
6- Acomodate the fork in place but dont tight it yet.
7- Time to locate the front mudguard
8- Find a set of bolts that will be discrete on the mudguard. Originals where phillips headed, now I find that the flat heads are far easier to fit.
9- Tighten the mudguard and do the upper steering cone.
You're ready to roll,
J.
good question mate, I'll just go and chop up a frame and let you knowRICSPEED wrote:im i correct that the collar on the forks is the same size as the frame tube??
