The electronic set up looks very Vietnamese in my opinion.
The front mudguard looks OK as does the sidepanels
Is there a battery fitted?
The front brake arm is not standard and looks like a VC bodge.
More pix will help
Chris
Thanks Chris -
Frame & engine number do not match but are both SX and have not been tempered with, I also have the original rego paper from the UK, last rego'd in London back in 2003.
No battery
Cheers

Thanks everyone, really happy with all your advise.
Can anyone tell me where the best source of NOS is?
Looks like I need a new set of forks at the very least.
Cheers
Barry

I doubt that they're Viet - it actually looks like they've been stripped and painted (rattle can) with little prep, there's surface rust under light scratches and the definition of the folds looks clean. In short, they don't look full of filler.
I have a set of original Italian panels and a set of pressed Viets (TSR) and even stripped, the Italian panels are much lighter (thinner steel).

from what can be seen, the panels don't look quite right...
Li ones made into SX ?
look like they could've had the centre bulge at one time ??
my original Italian Special panels don't have the line continuing forward of the front flashes...
of course, that could all be the angle of the photos, lighting etc

DANGER!!! DO NOT RIDE UNTIL YOU REROUTE THE FRONT BRAKE CABLE.!!!!!!
its liable to catch on the tyre pulling the front brake on and causing an accident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
